Math



Math is organized into 6 strands of study:


A. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Skills in Mathematics and the Mathematical Processes
B. Number
C. Algebra
D. Data
E. Spatial Sense
F. Financial Literacy
 

Students are encouraged to organize a binder into two areas, preferably using graphing notebooks. They should be labeled as:
  • Daily Work
  • Journal (notes and teacher examples)
They will also need a geometry set and a calculator, in addition to the binder and graphing notebooks.

Number, Algebra (coding)

TERM TWO 

Data (data literacy and probability), Spatial (geometry, surface area and volume), Algebra (pattern, expressions, equations and inequalities), Financial Literacy

Assessment: Students are assessed through daily work (Monday through Thursday), cooperative problem-solving activities, "pop" quizzes and unit tests. Tests are always given with a week's notice.
